Bir cümlede yerine şahıs zamiri kullanılablicek isimler ya Özne ( subject ) ya da Nesne ( Object ) konumundadır Dolayısı ile bu şahıs zamirlerini Fiilden önce gelenler ( Subject Pronouns) ve Fiilden sonra gelenler ( Object Pronouns) olarak ikiye ayırabiliriz

b) Dönüşlü zamirler İngilizce de aynı zamanda Vurgu amaçlı kullanılabilirler Bu dönüşlü zamirleri hemen Öznenin arkasından kullanarak yapılır:

c) by + reflexive pronoun: tek başına, yanlız
