Kişilerin veya neslerin yerine kullanılan Şahıs Zamirleri “Personal Pronouns” , cümle içerisinde bulundukları yere ya da yerine kullanıldıkları şahıslara göre değişirler.( Subject or Object Pronoun)

Bir cümlede yerine şahıs zamiri kullanılablicek isimler ya Özne ( subject ) ya da Nesne ( Object ) konumundadır. Dolayısı ile bu şahıs zamirlerini Fiilden önce gelenler ( Subject Pronouns) ve Fiilden sonra gelenler ( Object Pronouns) olarak ikiye ayırabiliriz.

Sahiplik sıfatları ismlerin önünde kullanılırlar ve o ismin kime ve ya neye ait olduğunu gösterirler.

c. Do you know where your books are?

Sahiplik zamirleri bir sahiplik sıfatı + isim yerine kullanılır.

REFLEXIVE PRONOUNS: MYSELF, YOURSELF, HERSELF
( DÖNÜŞLÜ ZAMİRLER)

a) Dönüşlü Zamirler, Öznenin yaptığı işten yine kendinin etkilendiğini ve işin yine kendine döndüğünü gösterir.

Örnek :
 She encouraged herself to do well.
 Juanita, Carlos, and I have deceived ourselves into believing in my uncle.

b) Dönüşlü zamirler İngilizce de aynı zamanda Vurgu amaçlı kullanılabilirler. Bu dönüşlü zamirleri hemen Öznenin arkasından kullanarak yapılır:

You yourself have to do all this!

c) by + reflexive pronoun: tek başına, yanlız...

Amy lives by herself.
Ted can’t do this by himself. Go and help him.
I want to sit here by myself! Please leave me alone
