Orhangazi is in the area of Tophane Sultan Orhan was a great organizer and the scond ruler of the Otoman empire During this reing Bursa was camptured from Byzanitinos Few years later Otoman crossed into vurope and the first Otoman silver coin was minted He died in Bursa The Tomb was built on the old foundation of a Byzatino cnurh some mosaic decoration has survived The Tomb was dostroyed by an earthquake in 1855 and rebuilt in 1863

GREEN TOMB

Sultan Çelebi Mehmet was fifth ruler of the Otoman state heregainedthe power after the defeats and the long dispute of throne with his brothers, the Tomb was completed under the orders of Hacı İvaz Paşa At the command of Murat II following Mehmet Çelebi’s death in may 1421 It was the noblest tomb that the dynasty had yet achived with the fine workmanshipof its tiles and wooden doors the sarcaphagus gives the date of Sultan’s deat on each window is surmounted by an inscription containingphrases of Hz Muhammed
