Çağdaş dönemin Müslüman hayatını tehdit eden unsurlardan bir tanesi de Müslümanların Batı kültür havzasında, farklı bir tarihsel tecrübede ve öznel bir dünya görüşüne mebnî olarak vücut bulmuş Batılı yaşam tarzını içselleştirmede yüksünmemesi, dinin bu hususta uyaran tavsiyelerini önemsememesi oluşturmaktadır Müslüman dünya telakkisiyle temelde doku uyuşmazlığı olan Batı modeli bizi ne tam “biz” ve ne de tam “öteki” kılan bir eşiğe taşımaktadır Bunun sonucu olarak zihin parçalanması krizine birey ve toplum olarak maruz kalmaktayız

One of the elements of the modern era which threaten the Muslims of today is general lack of hesitastion on behalf of the Muslim to internatlize the Western lifestyle, which has manifest it’s self in the cultural realm of the West, in a different historical experience and in a subjective worldview Equally disconcerting is the Muslims’ lack of attention and care to Islam’s warning advice to this end The Western model, which is in its essence not compatible with the Muslim perception of the world, carries us to a threshold in which we are neither “ourselves,” and nor are we truly the “other” As a result of this, we being subjected to, both and the individual and societal level, the fragmentation of the mind

من بين العناصر المهمة التي تهدد حياة المسلم في الوقت الحاضر هي التأثر بالثقافة الغربية ونمط الحياة فيها، وهي حياة تكونت في إطار تجربة تاريخية مختلفة، ومن العناصر المهمة كذلك في هذا الخصوص عدم التردد في الانغماس في طريقة الحياة هذه وعدم الاهتمام بالمحاذير التي يقدمها الدين في هذا الإطار وكنتيجة لذلك تحدث أزمة في هوية الفرد فهي ليست صورة واضحة لـ"الأنا" ولا صورة واضحة لـ"الآخر"، وهي تعبير عن أزمة تشظي على المستوى الفردي والمستوى الاجتماعي
