koleksiyonudur ve bir kısmı 3B grafikleri ilgilendirir. DirectX, ses, müzik,giriş aygıtları ve çeşitli ortamlar için API'ler içerir. 3B grafiklere yönelik olan özel API'ye Direct3D denir ancak ekran kartları söz konusu olduğunda DirectX ve Direct3D kelimeleri bir birinin yerine kullanılabilir.
